My dad was the local scout master and an employee of the Soil Conservation Service. (We had access to most of the farms and ranches in our county)We were spoiled to the outdoors. My dad was interested in survival skills and taught us alot of what he knew. I wish some times I had paid closer attention. He was skilled at edible and medicinal wild plants and could drive you nuts with scientific names and uses for about anything that grows.
I agree. That is such a valuable lost art.
