I agree that a long knife might be dangerous in inexperienced hands. The same goes for an axe or hatchet. But then again, using these basic tools correctly is a fundamental skill. A good saw can be quite useful but in general it just isn't a very efficient substitute IMHO.

Blast,

Being new to the site, where would the intro be best served without interfering with important info.

Glad your hike went well. It rained and we had a few tornados, but everyone made it fine. Wished I had been with you and your group!

kmat,

Post your intro in the "Around the Campfire". As for interfering with important info, that pretty much sums up most of my posts... laugh

p.s. As for the 4C hike, there's always next time. Oh, PM me if you want to canoe down Spring Creek sometime.

p.p.s. Librarian, same canoe offer goes to you! Also, I'm still working on getting those water tanks.

p.p.p.s. Actually, I'm open to taking anyone that is interested canoeing down Spring Creek...

Blast,
Great pics on your blog! Congrats on the weekend.
I guess I had better get to figuring out a b-day present.

Thanks Nighthiker, it was a great weekend. As for a birthday gift, really anything with a fuse or a pointy end is fine. grin
