Neat. I keep my hanky in a ziplock, as it's to loan out to others in an emergency, so I'd like to keep it fresh and clean. I actually use my bandanna all the time, so it's just folded in my other pocket.

You didn't ask for critique, but I can't resist. If there was just ONE thing I'd think of adding, it would be some tinder material. For me, the hard part is getting from the BSA spark to a flame, and only some materials will do that for me.

You could carry a cotton ball (dry or with PJ) or prepared SparkLite tinder. You could also carry one of those packets that have a Q-Tip in one end and some antibiotic cream in the other. That could double as first aid and fire starting.

Thanks, Bear -- good thought. I'll add a film canister with cotton balls or dryer lint to my kits.

I'm surprised how few people carry sunglasses -- esp. when planning to drive all day or spend time outdoors.

I hope this is not an ignorant question, but...

Is there a difference between sparklite tinder and prepared sparklite tinder?

Thank you for your response.

I agree with the importance of sunglasses. BTW, does that minimag have an LED mod. in it like a terralux, opalec, madmax, etc?

I just bought a new set of WileyX on ebay cheap with clear, gray and rust interchangable lenes in a hard case. I was surprised how cheap they went.

They have a real small 'pill" bottle that is shorter than a BSA Hotspark and will fit a CB with PJ in it. Weighs essentially nothing and gives you tinder for 3-6 fires.

I/M/O carrying bandanas. I carry at least two. One for utility uses and a second in a type of kit to use for first-aid. The kit bandana is dry hot ironed and folded down progressively and reironed until its a flat small rectangle. I then immeadiately slip it into a waiting Gerber Breast Milk Bag and seal it,pushing out all the air I can. Cooling vaccum seals it. Next I reenforce the bag edges with duct tape. I then lay the triple antibiotic packets on a flat side, layer on about one meter of flat rolled duct tape and attach the duct tape/ antibiotic packets to the Bag with Scotch Tape. Lasts a long time and gives me various fisrt aid options , even for serious emergencies such as sucking chest wounds.

Just out of curiousity, what sort of work do you do so that you'd carry that? I can't imagine why I'd need a GRMS with me while in town. For that matter, my shades are either on my eyes, or in my hair (personal preference!). Is there a reason for a mag-light versus another small flashlight?

My EDC:
wallet, cell phone, sunglasses, car keys, SAK classic, backpack (aka, my man purse), notebook, water bottle, mini-psk, palm pilot, ear phones, 1 or 2 class books... oh wait, never mind. You don't carry that much. smile
