You can even get a filthy Mauser(Yugo, Turk...) or Nagant for less than $100 but you will have to clean all the cosmoline off.
That's one of the benefits of being a chemist. I have access to solvents that strip cosmoline off in seconds! It'll even pull it out of the wood stocks of sks and mosin-nagant rifles in a few hours.
