Has anyone tried the new product advertised on TV called the FishPen at FishPen.com?

Got a link or photo? I Googled but could not find a photo even at the company website.
I saw somthing like this on sale at The Sportsman's Warehouse; not sure if it is the same thing.

That is the real question. Anyone got some extra cash kicking about. *looks in the wallet, finding a moth that died from being sat on and a nickle*

That is what I saw at Sportsman's WH. It was real flimsy. I am not sure that it would fish any better than a hand line or improvised pole. I have a 4'6" ultralight spinng rod that I use to catch panfish at a local lake. It will cast about 30' with a hook and bobber set up and a little more if you add some weight. Based on my experience with this rod I would suspect that the FishPen does not cast very far.
The gadget lover in me still thinks it is cool though.

Yeah, your casting distance with the fish pen is going to be limited by the weight of the tackle, the length of the rod and how much slack in the line you feel comfortable casting with.
General Questions to which I'd like to find answers: 1. What pound test line comes with the FishPen? 2. What is the maximum test the FishPen can use in a worthwhile manner? 3. What length of line can I expect to spool on the reel depending on test and/or type? 4. What the heck is "Super Strong Alloy" anyway (LOL)? 5. How much weight/force/pressure can "Super Strong Alloy" take before it fails?
One thing I do like, as mentioned before, is the idea of having such a small rod and reel for a BOB.
I can fish with what is contained in either my PSK or BOB, but neither contain a rod, and I like the better casting accuracy that can be achieved with a rod versus line in hand. I also like the idea of the reel taking up and dealing with the line versus hand spooling it or wrapping it around a stick.
When I get a few checks in (sometimes freelancing sucks), I might pick one of these up and put it through the ringer to see what it can take and what can be done with it. Luckily they're offering a twofer, so if I push the test out and destroy one, I'll have the other.
Of course everyone knows that knowing how best to fish in most cases is more important than the equipment so I don't expect it to improve my survival fishing capabilities in any other area than casting, but I'm still interested. Regarding the equipment, as a goof a friend bought a Popeil Pocket Fisherman and used it on our annual Camping trip last year. He caught just as many fish as the rest of us, and actually landed the largest fish on the trip.

Well I'll tell you, we were making fun our friend until he started reeling in fish after fish. The joke was on us. With less than $23.00 worth of gear (he bought the Pocket Fisherman on ebay for $15.00 and spent a few bucks for tackle), he was pulling in just as much as me with my gear; gear that I now consider somewhat overpriced. Now I've got to come up with some absolutely absurd and seemingly silly fishing gear this year for myself so we can keep the goof rolling. I'm thinking the FishPen might be it (good gear for my BOB as well), or perhaps I'll get the Rocket Fishing Rod! LOL

I once thought of climbing Mt Shasta wearing this pink glittery hydartion bladder obviously designed for some little girl. It was part of a bike accessory package. It also came with tassles to hang off the end of ones handle bars (also pink and glittery) I was going to put them on the handles of my trekking poles.
I saw the Rocket rod at Wallyworld the other day. COOL.

If I'm going to go to all that trouble, I'll just stick a couple of cherry bombs in my pack.
