Been there, done that! It's an amazing place. Although it's hit-or-miss to find a specific item since it is surplus. Plus you're more likely to find an industrial electro-magnet from a russian submarine before you'd find a small magnet to fit in a Wave.

It just dawned on me. That must be some rather low quality stainless steel if a magnet sticks to it.

Or high carbon.

I was going to post about an incredibally strong magnet I fould in a hard drive. I just took a look at the American science and surplus sight, and there it was under the name killer magnet. There selling magnets from old hard drives

Re magnets, modern neodymium iron boron magnets , are incredible strong as compared to older aluminum nickel cobalt (alnico) magnets. A small 5 mm diamter bead will do wonders.
