If you liked the movie you really ought to read the book. Well, actually 300 was based on a graphic novel but Steven Pressfield's GATES OF FIRE is probably my favorite novel.

Pressfield is a historian and although GATES OF FIRE is fictional, it's historically accurate and a really well written account of the battle of Thermopylae and the Spartans.
