Hi all,

Does anybody have any suggestions for thin, light and not easily tangled guylines?

Regards,

B.

As far as tangles, everything seems to tangle for me...

Dacron fishing/Kite line. 200+ lb on a spool. Can be doubled and trebled as needed. It depends on how much guy strength you need. I can't imagine anything as strong that is so compact.

I see your reflective guy line, and I raise you *fluorescent* reflective guy line:

Those guys also sell some funky rope cleats that are supposed to be particularly useful.

I bought a pack of 4 pieces (3m, or 9ft each). One piece will be for the front guy line on my tent, two are spare, and the last I cut into 13cm (5") pieces to make highly visible zipper pulls on my backpack.

For the most part I'm a countycomm.com orange paracord and tie-it-yourself kind of guy. It is cheap, strong, and takes knots well.

I like Kelty Triptease myself but I spotted a viable alternative at another site:
http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/aircore_1_spectra_cord.html
Triptease holds a little better and doesn't slip like spectra cord.

Of course, a person could simply use the 7 inner strands from 5' section of 550 cord, that's easily the cheapest way to go since you already have plenty of 550 cord. (right?) laugh
