I was just reading an article on long range hiking food, and in a paragraph about the importance of calcium, they mentioned mixing powdered milk with peanut butter. Has anyone tried this? I had to dring a litre of water just to finish the article

It's not that life is so short, it's that you're dead for so long.
It isn't that new, the old Hersey's formula for high temp chocolate had powdered milk in it a thermostabilizer. Should work about the same in peanut butter, so it doesn't get soupy in high heat.
And you don't need that drink of milk, it's already to stuck to the roof of your mouth with the peanut butter.

Being up for just about anything, this morning I tried this mix. Not real easy to do the actual mixing, made the peanut butter flavor a tad weaker, and the mix was very gritty. It didn't kill me, I don't know the actual improvment in calcium one might get, but for me it is not worth the bother...
