Today my watch band finally gave up the ghost, so I decided to try replacing it with paracoord. It was relatively easy to make, and I figure I have somewhere between 12 and 14 feet worth of paracoord added to my EDC smile

In the near future I hope to replace the knot securing the two sides halves of the band with a buckle.

Nice idea, too bad that I stopped wearing a wrist watch when I retired from active duty. If I change my habits in the future, I'll have fun duplicating your idea.

I stopped wearing one when I retired too, but I still have my Casio Triple Sensor that I wear when I wander into the boonies. I just might give this a try. If someone figures out how to do it with a buckle I could use my fastex's with the built in whistle...

Saw that one in another post, thanks. I figure that it shouldn't be too hard to adapt that to a watchband with buckle, I just have to get around to doing it...

I think I'll trade my pocket watch chain for a paracord "chain" and keep my pocket watch. Hopefully my Uncle Sam will never have need of my navigational/signaling abilities again.
