That needs to happen more frequently in the USA. Maybe, just maybe we could get some of the crime under control. "Oh, you were trying to rob someome and got dead, Tough ...." Instead we try the victims in court or in the media. Criminals have rights, citizens don't. Something has got to change, IMHO.
