Nice work on the forums.
It's going to take a while to get used to, but it looks good and thus far appears to work well.

I'll spare everybody the pain of having to read any more as I figure out how to use the new tools.

But at least for me the lighter colors are a bit harder for me to see.

I find the new look to be visually a bit harsh. The backgrounds are a light gray/yellow and much of the text appears to be gray or blue rather than black. All in all the screen is too bright and lacks contrast. I've already got a headache.

Is there anyway for an individual user to customize the screen/text colors for optimal ease of viewing?

Calendar etc. on the right. PLEASE move them down to bottom.
We need all the screen width we can get.

Up at the top, click My Stuff, then click My Preferences. Set Turn off the right column? to No. It doesn't move it to the bottom, but it gives you the whole screen width to use.
