Yeah, unfortunately my experience is limited to direcway; though maybe that's a good thing.

Out of the literally thousands of customers I've worked on with satellite there was only *1* person I can think of who I could justifiably say needed it. He was on a boat and had the dish attached to it. When he'd pull into a dock he'd retrain up to the satellite and get internet. Pretty slick. Other than that, I'd take dialup over satellite. After all, phone systems don't go out because of solar winds.
