Does anyone have any experience with some of the hunting packs on the market today? Packs like the Alaskan frame packs, the Dwight Schuh pack, Bison packs and so on. How do they compare to the hiking/backpacking packs used?

Right now I use a component system put together with a mix of different military and civilian items. My day pack is a Brittish military vest and for longer times afield, I carry an E. German 600ci. pack with suspender straps that attach to my knife belt which carries my knife and a couple of pouches with stove, fuel and medical supplies. I add a butt pack for extended days afield.

I also have a 4500ci pack for my BOB. It's a cheap pack but will get my gear out in a hurry if I have to. I'd like to replace this pack with a better pack and one that will cover all extended stays in the wild.

Any info or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
