I'm a skiier and spend a lot of my (winter) retirement time skiing here up in the Italians Alps which are located just outside my door step.

And so I'll be glad to tell you what I usually carry...

A lightweight survival kit (you should know which one if you've seen my latest posts or bio) along with one of those lightweight "non-cheapo" but more durable/heavy duty space blankets and several candles that will last up to 24 hours. So I can use'em as a sauna under my space blanket.

Plus my cellular, a hand-crank cellular battery charger carried in one of my para-reserve containers. But it's worn around my waist instead of over my shoulder so it doesn't get in my way while I'm skiing.
