Or you could check out the Character Map under Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools (for us Windows people). Find the character you want in the grid, and if it has an ALT+# shortcut it'll be displayed in the lower-right corner. If it doesn't have an ALT+# shortcut (or even if it does, actually), select the character, copy it, then paste it into your text.
