OBG,

No carpel tunnel for me. My typos are probably brain farts. Ooops, excuse me.

Sparks will NOT light an esbit tablet -- at least I could not do it. It takes a real flame.

Tips and tricks time.........
1) In order to light an esbit block with a spark shave a small amount off one end, crush it and then strike a spark into it. It will ignite.

2) I developed a quite potent fire lighter by dipping cotton wool into molten silicon candle wax. Mix in a little wood shaving ( I prefer maya wood but fat wood will do just as well). When it sets, wrap in a suitable jacket that you can ignite. They burn for a very long time depending on the amout that you use.

aka make a candle other options include stealing a cigerete off your brother(i don't smoke and did this to p*** him off, ******* didn't notice, see signiture on that one) and opening it so the tabaco is lose, makes some pretty good tinder. careful prep is required though, its not very hot or long burning.

trick with tinder is to make one part as flamable as possable and the other larger part as slow burning as possable whilst still been able to light a fire.
