If these are the same ones I saw on the news a couple of months ago, the GPS thingy has a very limited range. And in the thing I saw, there was some consern that anyone, bad guys included, could, with a simple laptop and the proper software, track anyone wearing the shoes. But the possibilities with something like this are endless...
