This is a visual way to show people ( students) the many ways to treat water. You can carry it with you ( red bottle or platypus bag) Use a filter bottle, pump filter, treat it with tabs or boil it in an old tin cup. The quarter is for scale.

My plan: strain the water through tightly woven cloth to get out the chunks, run the water through an activated charcoal filter (4" x 2ft pvc piping assembly), and then boil for 20 mins. My filter should be good for 10,000 gals at a minimum.

PS I almost always just carry water along (from home)...its just easier. But I pack tabs in my small kits and a filter when overnighting.
