I recently bought a new Spyderco folding knife to carry in my car. At the gunshow where I got it, I told the dealer that I wanted a blade less than 2 inches. The one I bought measured 2 & 1/8th from blade tip to handle, but he said that when measuring blade length, the measurement is from tip to start of the sharpened portion of the blade. On this knife, that was 1 & 7/8th inches.

Was this correct, or was he just trying to sell me a knife?
