Perhaps some of the thread used in a Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl would fit the bill. It seems fairly strong and is impregnated with wax. I keep a couple of Speedy Stitchers around for repairing heavier weight gear.<br><br>A needle or awl and some of the strings from a length of paracord should also be useful for repairing things. I found a source that sells paracord in red so one has a choice of three colors (that I'm aware of) to avoid that awful problem of having the stitches for your patches clash with the rest of your gear.
