No ! This is not another thread about remodeling the forum. Just a suggestion.

Personally, I dont visit the "market place" section. And I like to know how many people really visit that section and look at the paid advertisements.

I think that those advertisements can better be placed at the top of the "campfire section" where everyone sees them. They can be glued there for a month then removed. Just like putting a board on a busy highway rather than a deserted dirt road.

That was only a thought.

Hmmm...same here, I check when there is a new posting, and/or during my first login for the month.

The administrators could probably look up the click through traffic in the dedicated section to see how busy it gets as compared to the main forums.

FWIW, I suspect that these are placed in a dedicated sections to prevent the forum from looking too "commercialized" which I can appreciate.

That said, ETS may be able to generate a bit more of a revenue stream by making monthly "stickies" in the other forums.

In any event, I defer to Doug et al as they've done an amazing job with developing this site and maintaining the content and good taste for all.

As an advertiser, I defnitely second the stickies at the top of forums, especially the Survival Forum! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
