Hi Grim_Statistics,

Hmmm . . . the only AOL type tins I've seen have been square ( and just able to contain a CD-ROM and some paper advertisements) and thinner than an Altoids tin.

My feeling is that they have a marginally acceptable slip fitting cover and due to their design feel a bit flimsy. The only way I've been able to keep them shut with things inside is to liberally apply rubberbands.

I've toyed with them a bit but have not found a way to make them work well for me. I s'pose the lid or base could be used for cooking, however the paint/varnish . . .

Bottom line for me is that if one or more of these was all I had available, I'd make do, but there are better things around. (see my reply to Mongoose today).

Is the the tin that you referred to, or have I been hiding under a rock too long again? >grin<

Regards,
Comanche7
