I ordered some directly from LifeSciencePlus. They also have 1x1" size.

I got:

(8) 1x1"
(8) 2x4"
----------
$56
$5 shipping

The lady was very nice. She indicated she would include a non-sterile sample to examine prior to actual use.

Doh! Sorry John, didn't see your question till too late. Looks like you found another source.

Anyway, I emailed the seller and got a response almost immediately with a link to their website.
http://www.vetstuff.com/Home.htm

Go to the catalog link on the left and do a search for Bloodstop.

Ordered a box of 2x4 regular and a box of 2x2 EX for $16.95. Seems like a reasonable price.

It has always seemed to me that being able to stop massive bleeding from an injury on the spot would be a great thing. I have read that some products are better used by professionals (produce heat, scaring, etc).
Is this gauze pad product any more user friendly and is it suitable for untrained use? Is it effective?

Sorry Jon,

I cannot answer your question, as I have never used the product. I saw it in a trade magazine and thought it might be of interest. It sounds from a few of the other posters, that they may have used or knew someone who used the product and like it. Based upon the literature and my best guess, it would be quite user friendly and I would not have any reservations recommending anyone with some basic first aid knowledge to go ahead and use the product as needed.

Got them in the mail today. Kinda feel like a bonehead. Thought I was getting a box of each size because that's what the picture on the website shows. It's actually not very clear that it's for a single foil packet and not the box when you read the discription. Also, when I checked out, the total was for $16.85, no postage. When I got it and looked at the receipt, they added $4.10 postage...it came in a flat envelope.

Live and learn I guess. I'm more bugged about the postage. I don't mind paying postage, but it wasn't shown in the total when I checked out.

So, looks like John got a much better deal by ordering through live sciences directly.

Lukus,

Hard to say. I goofed up too. I thought I ordered 2x4s, but it was actually 2x2s. I got additional prices for some of the larger ones:

2x4 $8/ea
4x4 $17/ea
4x8 $23/ea

Redflare, if you can bring the prices down, I think we'd all appreciate it and I'd be in the market for of the larger sizes.
