A true survival scenario could be the physical equivalent
of running a marathon everyday with little or no food. How
far could you go? How far could your family go?

Let's all make a resolution to get in shape and encourage
our family and friends to do the same. It could save their
lives.

In light of your suggestion, which I agree with, I read an interesting Washington Post article today about real estate. This article noted how property values are rising in Virginia and West Virginia because of Government agencies that are relocating their headquarters and various functions to towns that are outside of the 50 mile fallout zone associated with a 1 Megaton blast in Washington, D.C.. These relocations are of course, up wind of Washington AND what the map provided doesn't show, inside of the Appalachian mountains. This places a mountai9n between the new locations and Washington D.C. itself. Very interesting, I tink!!

Check to see where the Homeland Security money is going. Quite a bit goes into WV. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Oh, and I agree. That's a great resolution suggestion - and I'm going to take you up on it!

I'm also going to put together a BOB for my wife and daughter.

I made this resolution 5 years ago and it's paid off. Joined a gym and started working out regularly. I try to work out 3-4 times a week, both aerobics and resistance/weight training. Getting back in shape took many trips to the gym; staying in shape will take many more -- well worth it.

A survival situation is come as you are. You're either in shape and can handle the stress or you aren't.

I intend to do the same. I hope I can stick with it!
