There are several books listed throughout the site. After reading the general texts I would look to regional references; desert, marine, woodland, arctic etc. Some books are more woodcraft and camping, primitive skills or long term homesteading. You have to set your own needs first. By reading several references you eventually notice common priorities and concepts, a better explanation or illustration, or even a common myth "fossilized " in the literature as wrong or ineffective.

Chris,
Thanx for your info, it has helped me to chose which part of survival I really want to learn about. As in every subject it can become boring if you don't look at the part your intersted in, esspecially in a subject like survival, which can be complicated at times and need to concentrate a 110% on it when absorbing the new information/skill. But if the motivation isn't there to concentrate 110% on it things tend to go wrong in practise.
Thanx again
Reinhardt
