I keep hearing 'pick up a rock'.. try finding a good solid rock in Florida.. I can find Sandclumps, but I wouldn't try to hit anything with them.. I have a Hickory handled hatchet with file.. I can use it as a hand ax, hammer and a whitening mallet for whitening hand worked raw-hide.. and probabily more..

In most of the country you can rely on rocks, but if you cant walk 10 feet in any direction and pick up a nice sized one, don't rely on haveing them around.
