I ran across this site Knots that may be useful. It has good drawings of both the common and not-so-common knots useful in fishing line.

This may be useful in preparing your PSK Cheat Sheets or adding to Bill's Cheat Sheet. I have been looking for a clear drawing of the Palomar Knot for Spyder Wire to add to mine.

Schwert,

Have you checked Spyderwire's website? spiderline Click on the "knots" in the sidebar. They have both an animated and a still picture series on how how to tie the palomar knot. Or, at least, they did a few months ago.

Take care,

Andy

Andy,

I did see the animated version on the spyderwire site, but could not get a "static" example of the knot before it was drawn up. I wanted a printout for my Cheat Sheet. I did not see the still pictures on their site. I will have to look again.

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,

You can download Irfanview (freeware) and extract all the frames in the GIF animation and then choose which one(s) you want. That particular animation has 92 frames (!) - no wonder it looks so smooth when it animates. Disclaimer: I have no association with the software; I just use it for quick viewing/printing and picking apart GIF animations.

Tom
Randy,

It may be easier to simply write the directions down. Double over-hand knot through the eye, feed hook through loop...or something like that.

The first five boxes on that page are stills in sequence, the last is the GIF. Maybe just use the first five?

Take care,

Andy

Andy/Tom,

Thanks. Looking at the spyderwire site again it is obvious that I had not had enough coffee or something when I was first looking to add a drawing to my kit
