Sounds like great ideas just from those few examples, you might also want to get them to list what they wore and had on them (like a knife, which should be given).
I would have liked to do something like that as a Scout.. in my troop the whole troop would go car camping each month, as well as a good 10 mile (at least) backpacking hike for training, once a quarter we would have a 'patrol hosts patrol' camping trip (18-22 kids, right around 1/4 of the troop) where one patrol would do all the planing, KP and activities but the other patrol had to do all the skits, ever other month we had a weekend backpacking camping trip, and twice a year we had camps (summer/winter) for the younger boys and trips for the older boys. I only got to do about half as much 'older' stuff as some of the other boys in the troop because I was great at makeing sure the younger/new boys learned and understood what they needed to know so I was always asked to move into the patrols that were geting all the new members (while the other older boys moved up to more adventure type patrols)... I don't know what the point of saying all that was other then thinking back on 'the good ol days'..
