I heard my preacher say today that archealogists have found dates stored from one of King Herod's palace areas that are still edible (about 2,000 years old). Anyone heard of this and if it is known how the food was preserved?

That link won't bring up a server for me. Firefox can't find the server/problem loading page it says. Could you do me a favor and doublecheck the address? Dunno what's wrong

Obviously preserved thru dehydration. Wheat from ancient Egypt has been sprouted--why not dates?
