I need recommendations for warm winter gloves without too much bulk -- I hate wearing gloves that make me feel like I'm wearing boxing gloves. Suggestions?

These will be used mainly in the car, not for any outside work

I still prefer leather shells with wool inserts except in extremely cold conditions. Then I prefer my leather shells/wool inserts in mukluks

I would consider Raber gloves since they specialize in gloves. But it's not a recommendation since I never owned a pair. It just looks like a serious brand.

Normally I wear a pair of Isotoner insulated driving gloves. If the situation warrants, I put wool mittens over those, and in extremis, mitten shells over the liners.

The driving gloves are awesome, and thin.

I'm like you I don't like bulky gloves and in addition to quite a few pairs of work gloves I have a pair fo dressy gloves that work for me.
I have a pair of fur lined leather gloves that I have been wearing since 1992. Brown leather not very bulky at all. Last winter I noticed that I have a "blow out" in the right thumb.
Nicest gloves I have ever owned, bought them at a local men's clothing store.

Depending on how much you want to spend I'd go with either something from Manzella-wide variety at affordable prices(all different
warmth ratings)depending on what your needs are.Or if you can check out Outdoor Research(more expensive)I have items from both and like them all.Manzella has its own site-both have some items at Campmor's site too.

I will second the Manzella brand gloves. My last pair lasted me more than six years. I still have them and use them for odd outdoor jobs. The pair I have now cost me less than 30 dollars and they keep me very very warm. I use them every day because I work outside and I live in Minnesota so I know cold. I hope that this helps you make a decision.

I've got a pair of youngstown gloves. They make gloves for construction work. These are waterproof. They've held up fairly well for the last few years. I used them for scraping ice, driving when it's cold, putting chains on etc. Not as warm as true winter gloves, but they are thinner, wind/waterproof, and reasonably durable.

Hmmmm... if they are to be used in the car only, I assume you could go with any cheap fleece gloves you can find.

I live in eastern Canada where the winter is pretty rough, and I never wear gloves in the car. I have very light polyester (synthetic) gloves I wear for a minute or two until i'm done scraping the windows.
