My family will be visiting Glacier National Park in the spring, and after watching the James Kim tragedy unfold I mentioned to my wife that I could easily see something similar happening to us at Glacier. I can see us pulling onto a side road, following it for a few miles, and then getting stuck or having car problems.

Anyway, she agreed that a PLB would be a reasonable form of insurance for our family. In the big picture $650 is cheap for insurance. She insisted that I get the one with the GPS built in. Wow! What a great Christmas present!

So maybe since she was expecting to pay $650 you can get a PLB + something else <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
