gonna take a flight and my FAK will be in my daypack. i'm wondering though if i have to put my single use packets of (5 of each, 15 packets total) burn jel, hydrocortizone cream, and neosporin in a ziplock bag when going through security, as technically they are gels. i'm only asking because the amount of fluid in the single use packets are so minute (and they're factory sealed) that i would almost feel silly putting them in a ziplock bag. any advice? and have you guys modified your FAK for airline travel?

I have flown with packets of antibotic ointment (like Neosporin) with no problems. I think you will need to put them in ziploc bags, though. I just move my Pocket Medic-sized FAK into my quart-sized ziplock bag full of tioletries when going through security.

It sounds like you have more gels than I do, though, so I'm not sure if you'll run into problems. Maybe you could pare it down a little bit?

thanks, i guess to be safe i'll put 'em in a ziplock. unfortunately i'll be traveling with a small group and i know i'll be the only one with so much as a bandaid, so i'm anticipating the usual, "hey, i've got a (instert ailment here), do you have any (insert remedy here)." if it were just me its no problem, but trying to anticipate what other people i'm with might need is a bit of a pain, i mean, challenge. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
