Here's my advice. It's rather Zen, but DO IT. Write down exactly what you want. What do you want to occur to you, career-wise. Doing this will also help clarify what you want in your own mind. Post this on your fridge, or somewhere you can easily see it every day. Read it to yourself, kind of a silent prayer, every day. The universe or cosmos will this and...well, you'll just have to wait and see. Give it a good three to six months. I'm not saying that my doing this worked, but I can't say it did not, either. Simply put, technical writing involves describing a procedures, processes, systems, or networks, etc., so that anyone who needs to can understand them.
This elucidation can take the form of a written description, a flow chart, or whatever works.
Street directions and recipes are good examples of simple and direct technical writing.
