May not add much to your knowledge of preparedness, but sure brings hope that more people are into it .

I like the way #1 opens: "The first step is to accept that you can depend on no one but yourself."
Not a bad article at all!

That's a good find, thanks for sharing!

It seems that preparedness and survival is becoming a little more mainstream. Amazon has that preparedness section, TV shows such as "Survivorman", "I Shouldn't be Alive", and "Man vs. Wild" (ugh) are all over. The magazine "Backpacker" has random survival articles. Imitation Nalgene bottle PSKs are available and the Red Cross has little checklists in the package with Mag-Lites.

And these forums and others are pretty busy, too. I'm glad more people are slowly becoming exposed to it. But I've still got family members where I am the one checking the kits. <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I find that more people are very quietly preparing instead of relying on outside help, at least the smarter PHRASECENSOREDPOSTERSHOULDKNOWBETTER. are. There are some truly great points in this article.
