yes ive heard of bad accidents with turkey fryers. i saw on internet vids guys frying all sorts of things...things that shouldnt be fried and that are not edible.like cakes....footballs. there was so much and it was dumb,but it was a good laugh.

Another safety tip when frying turkeys: TURN THE FIRE OFF WHEN YOU ARE PUTTING THE BIRD IN!! I stopped lending my turkey frying setup to others because nobody ever did this. The pot would come back scorched. <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> Luckily none of them ever burnt down their houses.
Another tip on frying turkeys: Twinkies dipped in waffle batter then fried are really yummy, but do it first before the turkey.
