Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience (good/bad) using a repair patch tape called Tear-Aid.
Tear-Aid Website

We're looking at using it to secure some instruction labels inside of life rafts. It seems to be a pretty versatile product which can patch a variety of fabrics and materials.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Regards,

Tom

Looks interesting. If you get it, could you post a review?

We've used it to a limited extent. Right now we've tried it out to fasten a instruction label inside an inflatable life raft. It adhered very well to to the polyurethane coated fabric and the label remained intact throughout the packing process and the subsequent inflation of the raft. The cold temp of the inflation gas didn't seem to bother it. It's an advantage for us to use because you don't have to use any hazardous solvents like MEK to prep the adhesive, just some isopropyl alcohol.

As far as long term durability goes, we won't know that until five years from now when the life rafts come back in for their servicing.

Our guy who deals with the Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) said they've put it into the repair kits for the inflatable sponson tube. He seemed to like how it worked.

Regards,

Tom
