By highlighting certain words you may be taking the provision out of context.
The 1.5 inch blade restricton is for automatic knives. Other knives have to have less than a 4 inch edge. This is similar to many other states.
The knife you EDC can not be more than 4 inches. There are plenty of great knives that will make the cut.
