Okay Guys and Gals, I have an offer for some free goodies that I think you may find useful.

As some of you may know, in the past, I have made up free starter kits for ETS members to give to a young person with the stipulation they work with that youth on developing survival skills and knowledge (I will having another such offer in the future). This time the offer is for you, the ETS (US) members of the forum. I will not tell you what the items will be, but believe you will like and find them useful.

I will send out free (no gimmicks or strings attached - your name and address will remain private) to any ETS Forum (US) member, these items and I will even pay the postage. One set of supplies per address only, with the following exception:

To our international ETS members: I know some of you have friends/contacts in the US that forward purchases and the such. I will send the supplies to your US contact for them to forward the items onto to you. I would not suggest sending just these items, but to include them along when they send you other items to make it cost effective. For their efforts to help you out, I will also send them a package of freebees to keep. When you PM me with their address, please use the following format:

International ETS Forum Member
Your Name
C/O The name of your US contact
US contact Address

This way I will know to whom to send two sets.

For everyone else:
Just PM me with your name and address, I will be sending out the items in the next week or so. I have around 30+ sets of items to send, so it should take care of most of the ETS Forum members who want to take advantage of the offer. I can likely come up with some more sets, if the demand exceeds the initial 30+, it will just take me another week or so to get the shipping supplies.

Take Care-

Pete

That's a verry generous thing to do. Unfortunatly I don't know anyone in the US

But thumbs up for this very nice gesture and I hope that a lot of people are verry happy with the items.

Thanks so much! I just challenged our older scouts to a "One Pound Campout" and I'm sure these 'freebees' will aid my efforts to build self-confidence through self-reliance. I'm sending the PM.

Quick Freebee Update-

To date over 50 members have taken advantage of the freebee offer, everyone will receive the items, some just a little bit later then others. I started to assembly the first 30 this weekend and should, hopefully start to send them out next weekend.

Just a quick clarification: These items are not the “starter kits”, but various miscellaneous items I think that you will find useful in adding to your kits. Those starter kits for youth will be offered at a latter date. A couple of you have stated you will be “sharing” the items with youth/Scouting groups and I have tried to get back to you that the items in and of themselves may not lead to a specific training opportunity per say. However, for those of you who do let me know how many are in your troop, I will send enough of some of the items for each youth/Scout to add to their kit.

I also want to thank everyone for your notes of “Thanks” and offers to help out. Please no reimbursement for postage, this is my (and my families’) way of saying thanks to you all for participating and sharing on the forum and in your communities. The offers to help out on a larger scale with a donation, again thanks, but would prefer if you made the contribution to ETS, so we can all continue to enjoy this site and forum.

Pete

You all are very welcome and hope you both enjoy and find the items useful (and maybe teach/share your knowledge with someone else).

If you have not received your items yet, please be patient, the response to the offer has exceeded the initial 30 and is close to 70 requests. I will, eventually get everyone’s out; it is taking me a bit longer then I had planned, due to the logistics of assembling, packing and getting to the Post Office.

I will be sending out another group today. Please excuse the packaging, I try and recycle packing materials as much as possible.

Another thing, I want to assure everyone: that I am not putting your names and address into any type of database. I did copy and paste from your PMs, to save time.

Take care and stay safe-
Pete

Got my package today, my gosh what wonderful thing for you to do! With our society becoming so "ME" oriented, it puts a huge smile on my face and a lump in my throat when someone like you goes to the effort and expense to do such a nice thing for others, most of whom you probably have never met and probably never will. At the risk of waxing religous, whoever keeps track of the kind things done in our lifetime just put a BIG check in the 'atta boy' column for you. Thanks just doesn't seem to be enough.

I am glad that those who have received the freebees like them.

I sent out another group last night. We will be out of town for the holiday and will not be able to assemble or send out any more until we get back.

I appreciate everyone being patient. To those who have requested the freebees in the last week or so, be doubly patient, I will get to everyone’s request eventually, but it will take some time to get caught up.

To those Forum members, that celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have great Thanksgiving, get the chance to be with family and friends. Please remember our Service men and women, LEOs and Fire/EMS personal who will not be spending dinner with their families and friends. To all Forum members, please be safe; spend time with family and friends - just because….

Pete:

My package arrived before Thanksgiving. Thanks! At first, I had NO idea who the people in the return address were, but on opening the package there could be no doubt about the source.

My wife is very jealous indeed, and thinks some of the goodies are for sewing, not survival!

Pete,
I got the package today. Thank you so much, you have a good heart and all the things you sent will be perfect to include in the kids backpacks that I'm making up for them. You are one in a million. Thanks again

I got mine today. I had forgotten I'd requested it, and was expecting something else that I had ordered, so I was a bit confused at first!

Great stuff, thanks.

Pete....

Received the freebees today. All I can say is WOW!
In the next few weeks my two daughters and I are going to be making small survival kits for each of them. These items will be a great start on the kits.
Putting these kits together with the kids might just spark a small fire, and get them thinking a little about being prepared.

Thanks again!

Smitty

I am glad that those who have received the goodies to date are pleased .

For those still waiting, please be patient . I started to assemble some more of the packages last night and should have another round to go out soon . With all of the requests, it will take me at least another month to completely send out all of the packages .

Please remember that I am trying to recycle packing material whenever possible, so the packages may look a little rough. If you receive a package/box with ?Peter Gorelick? on the return address label, it from me and is safe to open .

Take care and stay safe -
Pete

Pete,

You are THE MAN! Just wanted to say thank you for the stuff that you sent for my son and I. Great additions to our kits, 95% of the stuff was things that I did not have. So thank you very much for your generous hospitality.

Thank you,

Ready
