I used to be an Army medic and county EMT, but I haven't been current for over 10 years.

I am a SAR volunteer with some first-aid, survival, radio comms, crime scene preservation, crisis management, public relations and other kinds of training required to do the job well.

I'm definately not an EMT, but I believe you should add a poll option for SAR type of work because I think I might be a little more qualified than the average joe nonetheless. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The "other public service agency" selecion should fit that bill.

I was going to ask if retired counts...

Registered Nurse - I put "Other"

Physician = other

Other: WFR (not sure if that counts, but I'm certified through NOLS/WMI and am a member of the Wilderness Medical Society).

Under "Other" I would list the true geeks of the emergency services world... The Amateur Radio operators of RACES and ARES.
