I recently ran into a problem with my Kodak Digital Camera - the lens got stuck in the retracted position, and I could not get it out. I finally came up with a solution, but it's better shown than said:

... but I still like the pictures Kodak digitals take. Great color!

(That coming from a guy who typically carries a Nikon digital SLR)

By the way, I looove the video of yourself and (I assume) your son using the Magfire with different types of tinder. You need to put a link out so others can see that.

Ouch... Sorry that happened to your camera.

I enjoyed the MagFire demos, though. Your kid was cracking me up... "Don't burn down the back yard."

Fixing technology through superior firepower!

I guess we all need to buy a few more Magfires so you can get another camera.

Consensus here in the U.K. on Kodak camera's is that they are crap. The camera should be fitted with a stop sensor so that if it tries to extend and cannot, it aborts the action and sounds an audible alarm. My own Fuji camera does that. If the camera failed in that fashion in the U.K. it would be considered to be unmerchantable goods. For the simple reason that any camera designed for pocket carry will suffer an accidental switch on somewhere in its lifetime.

Martin, sorry about the camera, I do totally agree with your method of repair. You got to shoot something and it was afterall, designed for 'shooting" Kudos for the solution, thumbs down to Kodak for making such an unpocketable, pocket camera!

As if anyone with an ounce of sense would buy the same brand twice.............
