1. I'm wondering what this back pack looks like. Any chance that you have pictures of one that you could post or maybe a link to a site with a picture of one?

You fold the sides of the blanket over your stuff and then fold up the ends. You then make a loop in one end of the cord. You wrap the cord around the bundle and put the end though the loop and snug it up. You then go down and make half terns in opposite directions so you have at least three horizontal wraps. You then do a turn so you go vertical around the bundle and tie it off. On the smooth side of the bundle, that will be against your back, you tuck the pant legs (going down) under the top horizontal cord skip the center cord and tuck the pant legs under the bottom cord. Fold up the pant leg bottoms and tie a cord around them. Then slide the bottom pant legs around to the sides.

2. Did you throw the ash patty directly into the coals or did you cook it in your cup? ("All your cooking and eating can be done in a metal cup.")

For the ashcake we mixed up our ingredients in a ziploc bag and then made a patty in our hands and then placed the patty on the coals. When the edges looked brown we flipped them over. It makes a kind of bread.

The rest of our cooking was done in a single metal cup placed in the coals.

3. Any tips on the best way to get water from the trees? I assume the instructor also said why some worked better than others (other than just the seal and better sunlight)

It was more of an experiment then a lesson. It had to be in sunlight, the bag has to be clear and it has to have an air tight seal. We put a small rock in the bottom of the bag. It appeared: the more leaves and sunlight the bag got; the more water.
