In terms of the bug repellent, you want something that kills on contact. Sometimes the little sods just don't repel.

A better way to make cakes from flour and water is to carve a flat board from wood. Put you cake mix on it and leave next to the fire. Same result as the ash cake without the ash. Unless you need to consume the charcoal to deal with a stomach complaint.

p.s. It's worth the $85 just to learn how to make and use a bow-drill..

I saw these bad boys walking around when I went to take a leak. During the night, when I was half asleep, I felt something on the side of my face and pinched it and threw it. In the morning I was bleeding a little from the side of my face by my ear. I think I got him before he could poop on me.

I have been watching to see if I get a fever. So far I feel fine.
