For those of you carrying in out there.

How do you carry is? In your pocket? On a split ring? Or do some versions come with a self attached ring that allows it to be attached on a key chain but be pulled like a hands grenade?

I don't use it. But as an aside, wrap some high visibility orange tape on your unit. A policeman sees you handling a dark object in the same stance as a handgun and it can turn tragic real fast!

I carry a 4oz canister on my belt in a velcro pouch, behind me. It stays out of view only when my untucked shirt covers it. If I know that it may draw unnecessary attention, I try not to bend over so much.

So, I should wrap all of my pistols in orange tape, right? Hey, I can even spraypain the end of the barrel orange. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I wonder if anybody has tried this?

I like the design of the Fox Labs "flip top" 2oz can. With the protection against accidental release, you can just slip it into a coat pocket.

I carry a small can in my left front pocket of my vest. Since my department teaches "dual force options", pepper spray would be in my "weak" hand, and firearm would be in my "strong" hand.

I asked SgtMike88Ret who teaches Pepper Spray and he said that Punch II is very good. I carry one in my front right pocket wrapped in orange Gaffer's tape. I wrapped it because it was clicking against my keys.

Punch II - 3/4 oz cone spray

Note that KI6IW brought out several good points in the other thread. Capacity, stream shape and training are all importaint parts of this decision.

A couple more things to remember about pepper spray...it does not work on everyone, be aware of the prevailing winds (it can blow back into your face...I know for a fact that it works on me), and if you have the time (attacks can come on FAST), shake the can a couple of times before you use it (good idea to give it a couple of shakes before you start your day.) The "good stuff" tends to settle to the bottom of the container, shaking it helps it get mixed in with the propellant...
