Looks kindasorta interesting, but, knowing what FUBAR really means, I am naturally afraid of spending my hard earned money on one...

Is the slot on the backside too big to turn a gas cutoff valve? Otherwise it looks like a poormans' halligan tool

We have a set rules for creating acronyms in our deparment. 1. If it looks like a word look it up in dictionaries for a given set of languages. 2. Look for in in at least two search engines (this may be cut to one if the result is unpleasing) 3. If the one of the steps turns up a negative meaning, find a new one and start over. As the steps are easy to perform and the first few hits at Google show the meaning there is no excuse for the marketing guys. This is especially true because the people who might want to buy it could be expected to know it. If the marketing campain is fouled up the product may be too.

I would imagine that the "FUBAR" name was not unknown to them. It was probably even intentional. Personally, I think that the name is kind of cute, and I would not let that from stopping me.

Oh, I am pretty sure they do. And that's what this thing does -- let's you FUBAR anything you need to. I keep one in my trunk, too.

Forgive Us Bypassing Advertising Rights
I think the double entendre is crystal clear here. That in and of itself would make me MORE likely to buy something like this.
But I go in for that heady stuff <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

They are $50, you can get one at Lowes, not Home Depot. I'm buying one for the fire company, and we'll see how it works in a burn building. If it survives a month at fire school and on the truck, it will survive anything.

I just today picked one up for my truck at the Home Depot in downtown LA on 6th Street for $39. They were kind of hard to locate, but they were at the bottom of the hammer display sort of in the middle of the section. They were not with the prybars. They had 5 or 6 of them left.
Dang, this thing is big and heavy! Maybe 5 pounds total weight. Definitely not a wife's hammer.

I took a bench grinder to my tool today and carefully ground sharp edges on the prybar teeth and the chisel end opposite the hammer. Those edges come quite dull. I think now I could chop wood with the chisel end and certainly use it as a makeshift adze.
