Does anyone own this bag from county comm? http://www.countycomm.com/sleepingbag.htm
I'd like to use it for a just in case bag for when I hunt. Possibly with an AMK bivy sack.

I have one. I would not rely on it much below 40 F., and it would be pretty miserable to be in once it gets damp. That said, it can pack down pretty small, and it is cheap. Somebody must like them--they are sold out everytime I check their site.

I would agree with Norad, but kick the temp up a couple of degrees.

Bought one this spring and brought it up for the yearly pilgrimage to Northwest Ontario. Ended up missing my North Face Cat's Meow.

Temp's dipped. interior cabin temps probably in the low 30's. Note: I'm a cold sleeper. Could sleep, but not comfortably.

Bag is well made for it's price, but cotton lined. Would be ok for a heavy summer bag in dry conditions, allowing time to hang it before breaking camp.

Overall, not a bad bit of kit for the price.

Use to have one of these bags. Found it at an army supply store. They've been around for a while. At some point a friend permanently borrowed it. Cheap but wasn't very durable (the fill didn't hold up very long). Bought a north face kilo to replace it (more expensive but much lighter for the warmth). Now I own three down bags (35 degree north face kilo, 20 degree moonstone lucid, and a 0 degree marmot couloir). Once you sleep in down you'll never go back to synthetic.

The bag, with the bivy and an old army flanel liner (or fleece blanket) will keep you nice and toasty for a reasonable $$$

Down is no 1 for me, with a goretex bivy and a fleece liner ... packs compact, not too heavy, keeps me warm & dry ... but more $$$

Thanks for all the replies. This would be an "aw crap" bag for when I hunt. I figured it was a popular bag as they are almost never in stock. Thanks gang.

Well here is my 2 cents. I’m overnight camping at least 2 weekends a month. In all four seasons. Regardless of how often you plan on using the bag I would strongly suggest a name brand. The out door community is brutal when it comes to gear recommendations so the top brands are top for a reason.

I would go with Mountain Hard Wear first and Marmot second. I have had a few of both and also a few North Face bags and frankly I gave away the North Face bags with a huge warning to the recipient.

One word of warning about down bags: THEY ARE USELESS IF THEY GET DAMP/WET! Down bags are good for below 0c enviroments. If like myself, you live in a country who's climate tends towards wet, +2c windy, then a synthetic bag is much better. Anyone who thinks that 2c ain't cold is welcome to visit the UK in January/February. Give me -whatever anyday.

Echo that. I've dried several hi-tech bags in winter, and withing a few hours I'm wishing I had brought my 1960s vintage army arctic bag with the umpty pounds of down in it.
