Feeling guilty about not having had CPR training since the employer dropped the course, and never having had first-aid training, I got in touch with the local Red Cross chapter.

They are offering a combined CPR/Automated Defib/First Aid course for non-professionals, pretty much a full days worth (8:30am - 3:30pm) for $65. One can register by phone and pay by credit card. The guy I chatted with said that they're trying to hold these one per month. Just missed the August class, it was five blocks from my home.
