Not a bad article, I read the one on nuclear business. A relatively easy read and gets the facts straight.
One qualm I have with these kind of editorials is how do they figure on "best" sources for survival gear? It always leaves me wondering if the editorial is just a thinly veiled advertisement for business providing samples to the editor or something along those lines. Slate article contains direct links to products and businesses.
To make a case in point. If one ever watched Mythbusters on the Discovery channel, they go out of their way to cover-up logos and brand names of items ranging from name brand "cola" pop to cars and bulldozers. I feel like they at least try to de-comercialize their experiments.
