Hullo,

During my last fishing trip, I decided I was going to pay attention to the items I would use (what, when, where, how).

The things I used most were my trusty Victorinox One-handed Trekker knife + Photon Freedom Micro combination. I used the knife to open up all sorts of food packages throughout the trip. I used the light mostly at night around camp and for the occasional bathroom trip during the night. I had fun starting fires in the fire pit as well as in the fireplace with a Swedish fire steel and my Spyderco Bill Moran knife which worked awesome as a striker (back of blade) using no artificial tinder.

The Mora was uncomfortable on my belt, so was the Tek-lok sheath of the Bill Moran. The cordura sheath was not perfect either but was the most comfortable.

Seeing I didn't use the Mora at all... I'll put it in the trunk of my car, in my utility box. I will be wearing this Vic OHT + Photon combination in a cordura belt pouch. I will unscrew the Tek-lok plastic piece and put Bill Moran and it's flat sheath in a backpack or fishing bag. Great, useful combination for fishing or hiking.

Bee,

Mora fans are going to be sad that yours is relegated to a box in your trunk. It is a really great wood working knife and so easy to sharpen.

I'm fond of the Cold Steel Carbon V Master Hunter at the moment. I have an old one with a leather sheath. It is so much better than the new plastic sheaths! Now if I could just get my hands on an F1.

I'd love an F1 also... but that's more I want to spend for a single knife. Don't worry about the Mora, I like it a lot! But I ordered another Mora more suitable for everyday kitchen use : the Frosts Mora S-2 laminated steel blade... Also have an Eriksson #546 in the mail...
