My weekend adventrues with TSA

Since my girl moved to New Mexico I'm visiting her once/twice a month meaning that I will deal with TSA pinheads at least twice in 30 days (not counting days I work). So I did something smart and gave my girl my old Wave to keep for me while in NM and since she was driving there it was all good. I do not check in my bags since with connection time of 30 min I don't think they going to make it. With new TSA rules I became little worried about content of my FAK since it contained cortizone, neosporin and water jel pockets. I also had some pills (benadryl, tylenol and asa) loosly packed in small bags. My pack also have shears attached to it. So guess what? All this stuff went thru xray without a problem. No questions, no stops. Ticket agent fliped when I told them I have that upon checking in and predicted confiscation and disposal. TSA didn't look twice at my bag. I'm trying to figure out if I was lucky or they were tired or my items are not on the list...

No man, no uniform or anything on my clothes that would say anything about my profession. I don't really flash my badge at public places because flight attendants/pilots are more prone to "dump" pts on you instead of dealing with it themselves. If something serious happens I will get up and do my part.
If they wanted to take the shears I would break the handle off. Quite honestly I wanted to see if they are going to be a problem so I didnt leave them at home. On the xray shears may show different since unlike scissors handles are made out of plastic so it would looks like a bent flat piece of metal.

I saw two TSA Folks at the bus stop the other day. Obviously on their way home, after a day at our big Airport. (which I still like to affectionately like to call "Greater Pitt"!).
I weighed out the situation for awhile, -but finally got to doing what I Really wanted and liked to do!, -to Congratulate them for where Congratulations are Really Due!
After my "Excuse me,...", -I said "I'd like to Congratulate you both, -for what you are Doing for our Country!".
They were ordinary, Decent Enuff, Cool People, -if also "ordinary Workers".
He responded Sincerely in an Appreciative, -if basically so, of a manner. (His partner at the time, was a few steps ahead in the crowd, -so didn't really hear.).
I understand perfectly that many of them have their Drawbacks, and make their various Missteps. And that their overall system can often leave a good bit to be desired.
Beyond such however, -I'm of course Glad that I gave extending them Due Congratulations!, a Try!
This just may have served, and continue to Serve!, -as a Real Morale Booster for this Guy and Gal, -as they go about their everyday TSA work, -on the Next Day! And the Next,...! And so on.
They've got their Good to Great ones, -not only their Worser or Bad.
Once again my Appreciation! -For what Many of them at least Much of the time, -Do for Freedom and our Country! [color:"black"] Polak187
